Harvest formed in Rotorua in early 2004 playing a range of rhythmic metal and rock based music.

The band began gigging in December that year, and by 2005 had placed third in the Rotorua regional Rockquest finals.

In 2006, Hugh White took over vocals and Harvest began to take their music in a more metal/hard rock direction, influenced by the likes of Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold and Alice in Chains.

Harvest won the Rotorua Rockquest regional final in 2007, and placed in the top 12 bands nationwide. This enabled them to record the song 'Rain'.

In June 2008, Harvest released a 3-track E.P. called 'Evolution' and have received airplay on The Rock's Axe Attack and on Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Taranaki radio stations. They have also appeared on Alt TV and have played shows all over the North Island.

With a strong fan base in their home town and parts of the North Island, and growing popularity with fellow metal bands, Harvest look forward to introducing their unique, fast paced, refined metal sound to the rest of New Zealand and then the world.

After a hugely successful North Island schools tour in mid 2008, Harvest now plan to focus heavily on playing more shows and recording a new EP while working on expanding their original song list.

Keep your eye on Harvest, they're a dedicated, motivated band who are definitely going places.

"Their first EP was excellent, fist pumping, classic heavy metal with a modern twist. They're not playing covers (although they can, and well), they have the talent and guts to get away with it and are not afraid to express themselves. What they've got going is tight and the sound is spectacular. The world of heavy metal/hard rock will never be the same."

- Matthew Martin, reviewing Harvest's first EP, Evolution.

"Very cool set last night... should be the next best thing in NZ metal!"

- Rebecca Cotterill after her first live Harvest experience.
